The start of this year proved to be a bit rough for my skin. Why? after spending a fabulous summer vacation in Cape Town and arriving back into the dreary cold British weather really left my skin in a bit of a reactive state and of course the crazy pace of my lifestyle.
I never mentioned this before, or maybe I did, but my skin is on the reactive side too. My hotspots are my elbows (psoriasis) and when extremely stressed I get eczema on my eyelids, I mean seriously, why there…
I wanted to share my secret for treating my weathered psoriasis (as it started to flare up at the beginning of March – typical weather change and stress related here). For this project I decided to let my weathered stressed skin get out of control (so you can see just how bad it can get) and to do my own ‘Clean Living’ exercise.
Firstly I scrub off the dead skin using my Guerande Salt Exfoliating Body Balm. This will allow for better performance and increases the absorption rate of the products I use afterwards. If you feel that this might to aggressive. Try Rosa Centifolia Gentle Exfoliating Cleansing which will do the same trick, but less abrasive.
Once I have prepared the skin (in this case my elbows) I use my Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil and I always start with one pump, but because my skin is so dry, I actually end up using 3 even 4 if needed.
Once absorbed, I add a dollop of Emollient Rescue Cream to seal it all in and wait for it to absorb. If I don’t have the time, a little massage will also speed up the absorption rate of the cream.
Now for my amazing skin transforming results. I did this over a period of 6 days and I think the images speak for themselves.
And what does my elbow look like today…
I hope this little blog shows just how easy it is to manage skin that doesn’t behave well. Firstly, it is not what we want, but more what the skin needs’
